Day 1
Arrival in Islamabad

Islamabad

Arrive in Islamabad, Pakistan's green capital at the foothills of the Margalla Hills. Met on arrival and transferred to the hotel. Afternoon visit to Faisal Mosque. Welcome dinner introducing Pakistani cuisine.

Day 2
Islamabad → Skardu → Hunza Valley

Hunza

Early morning scenic flight to Skardu — one of the world's most dramatic commercial flights, weather permitting. Drive along the Indus River joining the Karakoram Highway. Arrive in Hunza Valley framed by Rakaposhi and Ultar Sar. Check in to a traditional Hunza homestays.

Day 3
Hunza — Cultural Exploration

Hunza

Visit Baltit Fort, the centuries-old former seat of the Mir of Hunza. Explore Altit Village and its fort — one of the oldest settlements in Hunza. Walk through traditional streets meeting local artisans. Spend unhurried time with the host family sharing in daily routines.

Day 4
Hopper Valley Excursion

Hunza

Drive to Hopper Valley, where lush green terraces meet the edge of massive glaciers. Visit Hopper Glacier and walk closer to take in its scale and sound. Return to Hunza in the afternoon.

Day 5
Hunza → Passu

Passu

Drive along the turquoise waters of Attabad Lake. Continue north toward Passu with views of the iconic Passu Cones. Check in to a traditional Wakhi-style homestay reflecting the distinct culture of Upper Hunza (Gojal).

Day 6
Passu → Shimshal Valley

Shimshal

Visit the Hussaini Suspension Bridge, one of Pakistan's most famous footbridges. Continue toward Shimshal along narrow mountain roads carved into cliffs high above the Shimshal River gorge. Arrive in a deeply traditional Wakhi community steeped in mountaineering heritage.

Day 7
Shimshal — Immersive Experience

Shimshal

A full day immersed in Shimshal village life at your own pace. Walk through traditional homes, farmlands, and glacier-fed irrigation systems. Visit nearby high-altitude pastures and learn about Wakhi traditions and Shimshal's renowned mountaineering legacy.

Day 8
Shimshal → Hunza / Gilgit

Hunza or Gilgit

Drive back along the rugged cliffside track to rejoin the Karakoram Highway. Continue toward Hunza or Gilgit, checking in to a local homestay and continuing the cultural immersion of the journey.

Day 9
Hunza → Islamabad

Islamabad

Early departure following the legendary Karakoram Highway south, tracing the Indus River through deep gorges and dramatic terrain — one of the most scenic road journeys in the world. Arrival back in Islamabad by evening.

Departure

Islamabad

Breakfast at the hotel, then transfer to the airport for departure.

Shimshal is one of the most remote inhabited valleys in the Karakoram, reached by a dramatic cliffside road. Accommodation is simple and authentic — part of the experience.
