What if the Gilgit–Islamabad flight is cancelled?

A road transfer via the Karakoram Highway (roughly 18–20 hours) is always held as an automatic backup on Day 13. Please build flexibility into any onward international flights.

How rough are the roads?

Roads through Chitral, Ghizer, and especially Ishkoman can be rough, narrow, and occasionally unpaved. Travel times are approximate and can shift with weather.
